Central Quarry & Mining (CQM) has added another prestigious project to its long list of mega-project customers. The infrastructural work for rehabilitation of the North Runway of Dubai International Airport was awarded to Al Naboodah Contracting Company reputed for their expertise in the construction of airports. The project was extremely challenging given an extremely tight schedule of just 45 days to complete the relaying of Runway, installation of Airfield Lighting (AFL), Navigational Aid and the Meteorological Equipment (MET) systems.
The rehabilitation works involved the full 4,500 meters reconstruction of the central strip of the runway, all associated taxiways and graded safety strips. Over 295,000 tons of special mix asphalt and 125,000 tons of concrete have been utilised for the project. For this project Al Naboodah wanted a reliable supplier of construction aggregates who could supply the required quantity of material meeting international quality standards. Central Quarry & Mining (CQM) was selected among the many suppliers in UAE for its consistent quality production and capability to deliver on-time for a very demanding project schedule.
