Gabbro Material is being quarried in CQM since 2017. For our heavy work, rugged and powerful machines with all-wheel drive are essential because of the topography at the quarry which requires maneuvering very difficult terrain with up to 18-% gradients.
To ensure the smooth extraction of material, another 2 dump trucks were needed, which are reliable and efficient. The size of the machine also had to match the existing loading equipment so that their interaction during transport to the crusher runs optimally. What was most important was that the dump truck had to easily cope with the 18-% slope gradients. Managing Director Vinod Damodaran knew that the Komatsu HM400-3R would be a perfect fit.
The 2 new Komatsu HM400-3R dump truck now augments a fleet of 11 other articulated dump trucks, 5nos of 40 to 80 tons excavators, 5 wheel loaders among other quarry Equipment. Fleet and machines at CQM needs to remain state of the art, and for this reason the company has invested amongst other things in the new Komatsu dump trucks.
